• Project: Illustrated Nursery Tales
  • Commissioned by: Usborne Publishing
  • Purpose: 128 page Children's Gift Book
  • Brief: To illustrate twelve well-known tales including 'The Princess and the Pea', 'Jack and the Beanstalk', as well as lesser-known stories such as 'Hywel and the Mermaid'. The book contains a mixture of double-page spread artwork , single plate illustrations and various vignettes. My personal approach to the project was similar in terms of character and environments to the other books in the range, see ‘Animal Stories for Bedtime’. The illustrations were created leaving alot of visible pencil drawing with the colour applied using water colour techniques and digital techniques.
